Move your desk

Bring the desk
you already run.

The tracker, the open roles, the folder of CVs. Give your existing work a place in Sonder, with a review before anything is saved.

Existing-data imports are included on active paid Plus, Pro and Enterprise plans. The 14-day free trial starts with a fresh workspace.

Start with your files

What are you bringing?

A demand tracker describes work. A candidate export describes people. Sonder gives each a different path.

Excel workbook

Your tracker becomes a working desk.

Bring over clients and requisitions with the owner, target date and priority. Keep the pipeline counts as each job’s starting snapshot.

  • Check which workbook tab was read.
  • Review roles by client and what they’re waiting on.
  • Include or skip a client, a group or a single role.

A count of “12 sourced” cannot tell Sonder who those 12 people are. Bring the CVs or candidate records through their own path.

Turn the JD folder into open jobs.

Select the job descriptions you already have. Sonder reads them into drafts, ready for you to check before creating the jobs.

  • Review the title read from each file.
  • Correct the title and assign the right client.
  • Confirm the drafts you want in your workspace.

An imported JD is the start of the brief. Open the job to review its requirements and shape the screening.

Give the CV folder a useful second life.

Choose files or a folder from your computer, including its subfolders. Review the parsed candidate records before adding them to the pool.

  • Correct names, contact details, location and skills.
  • Remove a record you don’t want to keep.
  • Save rows with a name and contact, then review the flagged ones.

A locally synced Drive folder can be selected like any other folder on your computer. This is a file import, not ongoing Drive sync.

Your candidate pool

People you can consider for the next role.

XLSX · CSV

Map your columns. Keep your people.

Start with a spreadsheet of candidates. Match its columns to the candidate fields, then review the resulting records before saving.

  • See suggested mappings and sample rows.
  • Choose the right name, contact, title and skill columns.
  • Correct or remove candidate records in the review.

If the sheet looks like requisitions rather than people, Sonder points you to the desk-tracker path. A role’s status should never become a candidate’s name.

A considered move

Read. Review. Then save.

Bring the parts you need, in an order that makes sense for your desk.

  1. Choose the right path

A tracker, JD files, CVs or a candidate export.

  2. Check the preview

Confirm the sheet, fields and records Sonder has read.

  3. Save what you choose

Leave out what you don’t want in the workspace.

  4. Pick up the work

Refine the briefs, review the pool and open the next role.

Can I import my existing desk during the trial?

The 14-day free trial starts with a fresh workspace. You can create new jobs and add new candidates to explore Sonder. Existing-data imports unlock with an active paid Plus, Pro or Enterprise plan.

Compare plans
Will my tracker recreate the whole candidate pool?

The tracker brings across requisitions and the pipeline counts it contains. Where it explicitly names a person, a record can be created for that person, but a name is not a CV. Anonymous counts cannot reconstruct the candidates behind them. Bring CVs or candidate records through the relevant import path.

What happens if I import the tracker again?

Sonder can recognise jobs from an earlier tracker import and show them as refreshing in the preview. It keeps a priority you changed in Sonder and leaves your notes and screening questions in place. The tracker can refresh status, deadline and owner.

This matching applies to previous tracker imports. It is not a guarantee that every manually created job or record from another source will be recognised.

What if a workbook has several tabs?

The preview tells you which tab was read. You can name a different tab and read the same workbook again before confirming the import. Check that the selected sheet contains your requisitions.

Can the team keep using Excel?

Sonder generates a master workbook from live workspace data, with Summary, Accounts, JDs, Pipeline, Placements and Timeline sheets and real Excel formulas. It is an export of the current desk, not an ongoing two-way spreadsheet sync.
